Episode 1: Chris Kennedy

By Jackson Richman

Welcome to The National Discourse‘s inaugural podcast, “The Discourse.” Interviewing those who are rising players to power players inside and outside of the nation’s capital.

For our first episode, we are joined by Chris Kennedy. One of Robert Kennedy’s 11 children, he is running for Governor of Illinois. He is facing two candidates in the Democratic race: prominent billionaire J.B. Pritzker, whom Kennedy tells us is a “poster child for pay-to-play politics,” and Illinois State Senator Daniel Biss. Chris called from Southern Illinois ahead of a Democratic gubernatorial debate and his nephew, Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-MA) giving the response to the State of the Union address.
