Former senator Al Franken (D-MN), who recently resigned from the Senate amid allegations of of sexual misconduct, announced today that he will resume his prior career as a comedy writer and actor.
Franken said he has begun working on a new as-yet untitled film, that he will write and star in. Leaked notes on the film indicate it will include several scenes of Franken kissing women.
“They’re essential to the plot,” Franken said of such scenes, adding that no other plot points have yet been determined.
Collaborating with Franken on the film will be comedian Louis C.K., who has also recently been accused of sexual misconduct.
C.K. is writing a role for himself in the new film. “I’ll play a comedian named Louis C.K. who likes to masturbate in front of women,” C.K. said. “God only knows where I come up with this stuff.”
“When Louie told me his idea for this character, I thought it was brilliant,” Franken said. “It brought a whole other element to the film. Originally, this movie was going to be a classic romantic comedy, but with a lot more kissing.”
Franken added, “Now, it’s a romantic comedy with a twist.”
In the film’s dramatic final scene (spoiler alert), Franken is passionately kissing a woman when C.K. walks in and says, “Don’t mind me, I’m just going to whip out my dick and jerk off.”
“I think this is one of those movies that could appeal to a really wide audience,” C.K. said. “It would make a great date movie, for example.”
“I think it will also be a great family picture,” Franken said.
Franken is not worried about keeping busy, now that he is no longer a senator. “The movie has a packed rehearsal schedule,” he said.
